Zendesk MCP Server: Swifteq vs Zendesk's Own

Zendesk announced its own MCP server in May 2026. Here's how it compares with Swifteq's MCP Server for Zendesk, which you can use today, and when to use one, the other or both.

The Short Answer

As of 28 October 2026:

  • Zendesk's MCP Server was announced on 19 May 2026 for early access “this summer”. It isn't generally available yet, and Zendesk hasn't published its documentation, tools or pricing.
  • Swifteq's MCP Server for Zendesk is available now on the Zendesk Marketplace. It connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants to your Zendesk.
  • You don't have to pick one. Both use the same open protocol, MCP, so your assistant can connect to both.

Compiled by Sorin Alupoaie, founder of Swifteq, on 28 October 2026, from our product documentation and what Zendesk has published: its Relate 2026 announcement, its MCP client help article and its September 2026 release notes. The Zendesk column shows only what Zendesk has published; everything else says “Not published”. We make one of these two products, so please check the sources. We'll update the table when Zendesk publishes more. Spotted something out of date? Email support@swifteq.com.

What Teams Do With Swifteq's Today

These are the jobs our customers use it for most, in Claude, ChatGPT and their own agents built with Copilot Studio or n8n. Changes happen only where you allow them.

Reports and KPIs

Weekly and monthly reports from live data: first reply and resolution times, one-touch rate, CSAT scores, and ticket counts by group, channel, form or custom field.

SLA tracking

See which tickets are closest to breaching, and your SLA achievement by group, agent or week, from your own Zendesk SLA policies.

Contact reasons and trends

Find what's driving volume, what changed since last week, and the themes behind a spike, from the full conversations.

QA and coaching

Review closed tickets for tone and accuracy, and check the tickets your Zendesk AI agent resolved on its own.

Working the queue

Triage open tickets, draft replies as internal notes, and link reports of the same issue to one problem ticket.

Help Center

Find questions with no article, draft the missing ones in your house style, and update articles after a release.

Macros

Find unused and overlapping macros, suggest better wording, and update or switch them off when you allow it.

Zendesk admin audits

List triggers with their usage, ticket fields, forms and brands, to find what's unused or out of date.

When to Use Which

  • Swifteq's, if you want it working today

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or your own agents to Zendesk now, for any of the jobs above, with changes only where you allow them. If you use Claude, see how to connect Zendesk to Claude.

  • Zendesk's, if you'd rather not add a vendor

Swifteq's server holds your Zendesk sign-in and makes the calls to Zendesk for your assistant. If your security team prefers a first-party connection, Zendesk's is the one to look at once it's available.

  • Both, if you want the widest choice of tools

Your assistant can connect to several MCP servers at once and picks the tool that fits each question. When Zendesk's opens, try it next to ours on your own tickets and keep what earns its place.

Not the Same as Zendesk's MCP Client

Zendesk's MCP client is generally available (listed in What's new in Zendesk: September 2026). It works in the other direction: Zendesk's own AI agents and action flows use tools from other MCP servers, such as Asana, Stripe or GitHub, and MCP tool actions in an action flow use Zendesk action credits. To connect your own AI assistant to Zendesk, you need an MCP server.
